Hosting dr. Dubravka Stojanović and dr. Ivan Čolović in Serbian cultural center “Danilo Kiš“
On Friday April 16th 2010, Serbian cultural center „Danilo Kiš“ had organized a meeting with dr. Dubravka Stojanović, a historian from the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade and Ivan Colovic, a world-known anthropologist.
Interview with dr. Dubravka Stojanovic was held at the Ljubljana Faculty of Graduate Humanities (ISH). Conversation in Serbian and Slovenian was led by prof. dr. Svetlana Slapšak, dean of ISH and Director of the Serbian cultural center “Danilo Kis”. The aim of discussion was familiarizing young humanists with the author whose book they had as obligatory literature. The author spoke about the directions in modern historiography and about her research experiences. ISH students and young researchers from other faculties were also present at the discusion, as well as several cultural workers – mostly from the Serbian diaspora in Slovenia. The conversation was very lively, and by the testimony of students, sparked their fruitful reflection.
Interview with Ivan Colovic took place at the headquarters of Serbian cultural center “Danilo Kis” in the gallery Visconti fine art. The audience, again predominantly younger, talked about his recent book the Balkan terror Culture (2008), and his edition of the 20th century, which will soon celebrate 40th anniversary and which has about 180 titles. In a conversation participated two Čolović’s authors from Slovenia, prof. Bozidar Laker and prof. dr. Svetlana Slapšak. Ivan Čolovic’s wit and his ability to have little impact definitions explain the problems, talk has extended far beyond the usual time for such discussions.
